There was a "Valorisation of traditional knowledge and expertise for protection of fortified heritage", held as a part of the WP 6 a transnational workshop on the 27 and 28th of May 2014 at the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Slovenia - Restoration Center (RESCEN) in Ljubljana.
Architects, civil engineers and monument protectors from Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia met together to discuss craft techniques in the renovation of fortifications. The speakers were encountered with case studies from their own countries.
The specialists of RESCEN contributed technical papers in the rehabilitation practice. The speaker from Italy illustrated in his report that an appropriate monument restoration can be well done also by with architecturally modern style and material elements. Results of this workshop will be included in the technical database TaCKeDat (Transnational Conservation Knowledge Exchange Databank) and in a "Handbook of typical historic technologies of fortress construction" as the main results of the WP 6.
At the beginning of the workshop Mr Hudolin, Director of RESCEN (in the middle of the photo, left of Mrs Zurawska-Tatala, representative of the Leadpartner Kostrzyn nad Odra) welcomed all participants and expressed his hope for further cooperation with FORTE CULTURA project.
